Christ, our Lord, Lion of Judah.
Australia Needs Fatima, brought the message of Our Lady of Fatima to the streets of ten cities of Australia in July, 2010..
Twelve young men, Catholic missionaries of the Tradition, Family and Property movement, assembled in Sydney at the beginning of July. These twelve men came from the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe, from America and from South America to evangelise the people of Australia in the truths of the Gospel and in the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Sydney: The first two weeks were spent in Sydney, mainly in the Town Hall City Centre or at Circular Quay. They would start each day assembling in the street saying three Hail Mary's. Then they went out in groups of three to busy intersections, handing out leaflets to passers-by about the book, Fatima - the Unheeded Message. And answer the many questions posed by people interested in the Catholic religion, the events at Fatima and the role of religion in our lives.
Many people were astonished to see these very graceful young men, formally dressed, wearing red cloaks and standing under the great standard of the Lion.
Many Catholics were surprised to see Catholic evangelisation in the streets:
"Good on ya, mate!" - "Lovely to see Catholics out here doing this." - "You are doing what many Catholics are afraid of."
Some Catholics even offered to help, and many took the leaflets to distribute among their parishes.
A woman had given up practising the Faith many years ago and now:
"The world needs you. I'll order the book and pray for you."
The most common questions were about Fatima and the reasons for Our Lady's appearance.
Parramatta: Over the three days here, many more passers-by stopped to talk. Catholics appeared out of shop doors and offered to help distribute the leaflets. "Amazing! Great!" were their reactions.
"Yes! I am from Russia, I just know what you mean. Our Lady spoke about Russia."
Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Adelaide: More intense and interesting conversations took place. Foreigners in Canberra stopped by and were struck by the visual impact of young men standing up for their Faith. In Melbourne, over the week, Catholics were very happy to help. Many wanted to know more about Our Lady's message at Fatima. And Adelaide was the friendliest of all.
Broken Hill, Dubbo, Newcastle and Wollongong: In country areas people had more time and far more people spent much more time in casual, friendly conversation about religion.
Conclusion: The evangelisation team found Australians far more friendly and open to talking about religion than in the USA, UK or Europe. They remarked on how beautiful the churches were in the country areas of Australia. These young men also enjoyed being tourists, wearing their Aussie hats, and passing a Rugby ball among themselves.
