At the Third Apparition in July, 1917, Our Lady revealed three secrets, known as the Secrets of Fatima. Below are the contents written by Sister Lucy:
The First Secret: a vision of hell
The devils stood out like frightful and unknown animals with horrible and disgusting shapes but transparent like black coals that have become red-hot.
The Second Secret: the punishment and the means of avoiding it. The Mother of God, then told them:
You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart in the world.
If they do what I shall tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
The war is going to end. But if people do not cease to offend God, another even worse war will begin during the reign of Pius XI. When you see a night lit by an unknown light, know that this is a great sign that God will give you that He is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, famine and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father.
To prevent this war, I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Holy Communion of reparation on the first Saturday of the month. If my requests are heard, Russia will be converted and there shall be peace. If not, it will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and several nations will be annihilated.
At the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.
The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted and there will be a time of peace.
In Portugal, the dogma of the faith will always be maintained, etc.
Do not tell anyone about this. You may tell Francisco, though.
