Getting Started as a Rosary Leader
What is expected of me? It is simple. A Rosary leader brings others together to pray the Holy Rosary to win Australian souls for the Blessed Virgin Mary and to do reparation for sins committed in today's world. You are answering Our Lady's request in a marvellous manner, attracting God's blessing and helping other souls. When one prays the Rosary, one finds it easier to practice virtue and reject the snares of evil.
First thing about getting started is finding a place. This should be reasonably convenient for all to come, and large enough to accommodate everyone. Find an appropriate image or statue you may bring along. You will need to find an appropriate location for it.
The next thing is to invite your friends. If you have seven or eight that is great, but even four is enough to get started. An invitation sheet or poster is a good idea. Remember, Our Lord promised: "For where there are two or three gathered in my name, there am I in their midst."
At your first meeting decide how many times you will meet. Once a month, a week, etc.
Then the Rosary leader may call everyone to pray, offering the intentions. A five decade Rosary is said, with a hymn to the Blessed Mother that may be followed optionally with the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This litany can be found in the rosary booklet that has been provided for you.
If it is possible, it is nice to serve light refreshments afterwards.
Make sure to tell everyone to invite friends for the next Rosary. Remember, we want to expand, and so if the group grows to a certain size, you may want to divide into two Rosary groups.
As your group gets established, please tell us how many members you have and we would be delighted to send a rosary kit for each one. Send a picture of your group that we may share with others.
