Welcome to the Rosary in the Street campaign!
Ninety years ago this year, the Blessed Virgin appeared six times to three small children at Fatima, Portugal, asking for prayer and penance. During the third apparition, on July 13 1917, she showed them a vision of Hell and asked for prayers and penance to save the souls of poor sinners.
After that frightening vision, Our Lady went on to say that if mankind did not convert, Russia would spread its errors across the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church, many good people would be martyred, the Holy Father would suffer much and eventually a terrible chastisement would annihilate several nations. Will Australia be among them? I don't know, but I do know there’s so much you and I can do right now to commemorate the ninetieth anniversary of Our Lady’s message.
I’m pleased to invite you to join one of many groups who will gather on October 13 for a few minutes in streets around Australia to say a Rosary. Devout Catholics will stand in public places and pray for our country and for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Your participation at a Rosary near you is very important.
You see, mankind has largely ignored Our Lady’s message and today we see a growing tide of moral corruption that threatens to swallow us up. For example, abortion, contraception, homosexual ‘marriage’, paedophilia and pornography are tearing the family to shreds; and impure TV shows, movies and internet are corrupting our youth. Even worse – terrible insults and blasphemies constantly wound the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Time is running out. To stop these sins and save Australia, we urgently need to do penance and pray the Rosary as Our Lady requested at Fatima. That’s why we’re saying Rosaries for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart in public places across Australia on this October 13.
All it takes is a few friends – any size group – to meet at a convenient time and simply say a Rosary together. It’s important is to do it where we can be seen by passers-by, at a time when the street is busy. There is no need to call attention to ourselves; just being there and praying is a beautiful witness. And it is more difficult to pray in public, which adds to the merit of our prayers.
But it is important to say this Rosary in public because Our Lady’s call to conversion is for everyone. There are already many good souls praying it in their homes and churches, which is most praiseworthy. But we as Catholics must also go out to where the general public is. We must take our witness to the people on the street!
To prepare for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart, I hope you will set aside fifteen minutes this coming October 13 to offer public prayer in reparation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Why not, right now, contact a few friends who could join you.
Please email me today or call me today on (02) 9715 2324 to let me know if you can participate in one of our Rosaries in the street. May God bless you!

How to Get Started with your Rosary in the Street
Suggested locations
A busy intersection, outside a shopping mall, a public footpath, a town square, somewhere central on a college campus. Ensure there will be passers-by to see you. A very good way to offer to God reparation for sin is to pray in front of a place where abortions are done.

Planning
Meet your friends for refreshments before or after each event to discuss plans. Build rapport amongst the prayer-team members. Compile contact information of those in your group and others willing to join. It should include email, phone numbers, and address. Write out a simple agenda. Decide where and when the Rosary will take place. Delegate. Give each person a specific role. Keep in touch with each other to see how your plans are developing.

Group Captain
A 'Group Captain' increases the efficiency of organising a Rosary In The Street group. The captain is the liaison between a rosary group and us. Though the captain, we can supply your group with information and updates, and put people in your local area in touch with your rosary group.
To become a 'Group Captain', email us.

Advertise
Reach others. Advertise in local parish bulletins and elsewhere. Give them enough advance notice. Move your mouse pointer over this text for a sample. If you email local churches, be sure to copy and paste the sample invitation for their parish bulletin. If you make it easy for them they will more readily put it in. Identify other possibilities for advertising as well. While 13 October is the target date, you may wish to do several ‘practice runs’. If your group is large you may consider splitting it into two groups, so that you can have a Rosary in the Street in two locations.

Legal
You are fully entitled to pray in public. You do not need a permit unless you are a large group. But it is recommended to phone the local police prior to your Rosary in the Street to let them know what you are doing and to reassure them you will do it in a polite and considerate way.

Decorum
Always keep a prayerful demeanour. All activities must be peaceful and legal. Doorways, entrances and footpaths should not be blocked.

Signs
Make a sign to display while you pray the Rosary, for example, one that reads: "Pray [a Rosary] with us for Australia!" Or, "Our Lady of Fatima - pray for us"

Handout
If you are able to, print up a simple A5 or A6 handout explaining why you are conducting a public Rosary. When curious people ask questions, give them the handout. See a sample.

Bring extra rosary beads
Be sure to have a few extra sets of beads in your pocket for anyone who joins you on the spur of the moment! We can supply you with a moderate quantity of beautiful Rosary Kits for anyone interested in learning how to pray the Rosary. These kits are free of charge while stocks last.

We value your feedback!
Please don’t forget to send us a brief email report about your activities. This is important because we hope to organize public Rosaries all over Australia, and to have an accurate tally your report is vital. And why not take a picture or two of your public Rosary? Send them to us and they will be shared through this website with others doing the same thing.
For more information on the Rosary in the Street call us on (02) 9715 2324, or email us.

Pray with us for Australia!
In 1917, Our Lady appeared at Fatima, Portugal to ask mankind to stop offending God; otherwise He would punish the world. Ninety years later, the offences multiply: abortion, pornography, sins against nature...
